The educational programme will be held over two days on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th May. The event will be held at the Palais Des Congres – City of Toulon. Each participant will attend a series of 8 workshops across two days with facilitators to support participants to share best practice, engage in comparisons of practice from different countries and formulate action plans for the future. Each workshop will last 1 hour with the schedule for each day as follows:
Sharing effective methodology around motivating girls in Physical Education and Sport.
A review of different pedagogical approaches PE teachers can adopt to engage young people.
A review of different technologies available to enhance the PE experience of young people.
Experience of facilitating extra-curricular activities that go above and beyond to engage young people.
Examples of innovative practice linked to curriculum design improving the outcomes of young people.
Formative and Summative Assessment methodologies that are implemented effectively to support young people.
A review of the Physical Literacy Concept and how PE departments can apply the concept to support the development of young people.
How PE departments can ensure their practices are inclusive to all young people in their schools.
Facilitators will introduce the theme of the workshop and the objectives for the session.
Facilitators will then lead an ice-breaking/challenge/fun activator to start the session.
Session will then follow a series of small group discussions and sharing of best practice following a thread of content linked to main topic.
Facilitators to make notes on key discussion points ready for preparation of final documentation.
The participating teachers, leaders from international sport sectors, school networks, national and regional institutions, and city leaders, will attend and share their views during an international conference related to the role of physical education to contribute to the global development of the youth and to tackle major health issues for children.
Panels discussion will beorganised around the following topics:
Decision makers andexperts for Local National, European and International organisations will beinvited to participate in this conference which will be in presence of theWorld Teachers Games participants, and which will be a conference open to thepublic.
The teachers will be joining a friendly sport competition programme in teams of 4-6 persons which is composed of the following sports
Sports gear to practice comfortably different outdoor, beach sports and swimming equipment (swimsuit and goggles. Potentially swimming wetsuit or combination if you wish, although not mandatory during this period of the year).
Each team is invited to be recognisable with its own t-shirts representing its schools/country or network for the sporting activities.
